Yahrzeit Together is a private space for families to remember people they have lost. The memories, photographs and messages you add belong to your family, not to us. This policy explains exactly what the app stores, who can see it, and how to remove it.
The app does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or third-party trackers of any kind. We do not collect your location, contacts, or device identifiers for advertising.
This app is unusual in that most of what you enter is about someone else — the person being remembered, and living relatives you record as family. That information is stored the same way as your own and is visible to every member of that memorial.
Please only add details about living people that they would be comfortable being shared with the rest of that memorial's members. If someone asks you to remove details about them, you can delete them yourself in the app, or contact us.
Memorials are private. The contents of a memorial — its memories, photographs, chat and family details — are visible only to people who have been invited to that specific memorial and have accepted, or who asked to join and were approved by a member. They are not public, not searchable, and not shared with other families using the app.
This is enforced at the database level, not just in the app: every request is checked against your membership before any data is returned.
Some things are private even from other members of the same memorial: a private nickname you give someone, and which memorials you have pinned, are visible only to you.
We keep this list short deliberately. These companies process data on our behalf:
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in, and storage of photos, videos and recordings |
| Resend | Sending sign-in codes and invitation emails |
| Expo | Delivering push notifications to your device |
| Vercel | Hosting the web version of the app |
| Apple | App distribution through the App Store and TestFlight |
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising or marketing.
Memorial content is kept for as long as the memorial exists, because that is the point of the app — a memorial is meant to last. You can delete individual memories you posted, and a memorial's creator can delete the whole memorial at any time.
You can delete your account at any time from More → Delete my account. When you do:
This cannot be undone, and we cannot restore a deleted account.
Data is encrypted in transit. Photographs, videos and recordings are stored privately and are served through short-lived links that expire, rather than public URLs. Access to every piece of data is checked against your memorial membership on the server.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you.
Yahrzeit Together is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects how your information is handled, we will update the date at the top and notify you in the app.
